Karlobag
The morning starts will a run though the town with Speedtest app open on my phone. The results show that the public Wi-Fi-EU, available throughout the town, has download speed up to 20MB/s (which is twice the speed I have at home). So, I establish an office at the table in the shadow of our apartment building.

The next 4,5 hours I spend working and listening to the students defending their papers. Most are of questionable quality, opinion I do not hold back. During the session (18 students!) I change the position 3 times. First two times to evade the rising sun, but third – due to internet connection failure.  The last students I listen to sitting in the staircase of our building. Here I can have both: the electricity and the internet. Mr. M meanwhile enjoys a beer on the balcony (I suppose), helps me with my “office-moves”, and provides a continuous supply of coffee (upon demand).

When this job is done, it is already past noon. A bit too late to repeat the visit to Pag or Rab, and, moreover, I feel a bit tired and hungry. So, we go for a search of food in the ghost town Karlobag.
Most of the places in Karlobag are closed. The place we end up is a tavern popular among bikers. The food still has room to grow, however the view is the best we can get in Karlobag. The owner of the Tavern admits feeling happy today as the tavern has lot of guests. It has been a rough year for him. On our way home we stop at the Konoba, (which means “tavern” in Croatian) where we had the lunch on the first evening. In a way I am sorry we did not eat here this time as well. To make things better, we indulge ourselves in what the drink list offers. After all, I have not tried the travarica yet.
Mr. M tries Viljamovka. His judgement is that it tastes like a cocktail from samogon, machine oil and soap.

9 drinks later we have established two main lines of local drinks: “samogons” (local moonshine, which is quite terrible as opposed to moonshines in the USA, which may even be quite tasty) and gastric drops (bitters, often sweetened, based on wormwood).

The best news about all this is that on the next morning after this tasting my head is clear, and no hangover is on the horizon.
