The way back from any vacations isn’t something I am keen sharing. What exciting there may be in saying goodbyes, in farewells, not knowing, when we will see each other again? At this point the only interesting facts could be about covid-related logistics. And maybe the fact, that the hosts of apartment we stayed in offered a free ride to the airport (which was convenient and made one more “plus” for this apartment).

I have no idea, how long this will be topical, but a point to mention: Zagreb airport has covid-testing facility. It offers PCR tests (delivered in 24h time) and rapid tests (15 min). Walk-ins possible, so you do not have to search for and book a place for testing somewhere in the city. The test results are issued in three languages. Very convenient. These tests are accepted both by Latvian carrier (AirBaltic) and for the entry in the USA.

The rest is boring: empty Zagreb airport and not so empty airport in Zurich (although at least third of shops and restaurants are still closed). Phone calls of Russian speaking passengers Mr. M overheard from, telling phone someone how easy it is to fake the cards the US issues certifying covid vaccination. The cue to board AirBaltic flight which is the only airline meticulously checking covid passes and covid certificates. But at the end of the day – this all seems irrelevant in the light of the fact that we have managed to meet and spend these 10 days together. I have a feeling of pandemic abating, as we did not exactly feel any restrictions during these days, and I really hope this feeling is here to stay.
